2005 Annual ReportFiscal year 2005 was the first year of the Company’s enhanced dividend policy, through which we provided stockholders an increased dividend over the prior year. Our enhanced dividend policy provides that we will pay a special cash dividend in December of each year equal to 25% of the excess of reported net income over the dollar amount that is required to pay the four regular quarterly cash dividend payments for the fiscal year. Our performance in fiscal year 2005 allowed us to pay a special cash dividend in the amount of $0.30 per share on December 2, 2005. The special dividend, combined with the four regular quarterly cash dividends of $0.50 each, returned to stockholders a total of $2.30 per share during calendar year 2005. This dividend provides a yield that is among the highest paid by any publicly traded bank or thrift in the country. |
